A very beautiful place, and a special view. John Ruskin, English writer and philosopher, wrote that the Matterhorn is “the most noble cliff in Europe” and I agree with him 🙂 🙋🏻♂️
Ruskin lived the latter part of his life at Brantwood House, overlooking Coniston Water in the English Lake District. It’s also beautiful, no cliffs, though. (So, next time you’re in Britain, be sure to visit his home).
I won’t miss it. I was in Glasgow and saw the legacy of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, I will also come to see Brantwood House. (My wife would never give up visiting it. She is an architect, I owe her everything I know about it.)
Some years ago we had a holiday in the Lake District & visited Brantwood House. I didn’t want to leave the house & gardens; the setting overlooking Coniston Water is wonderful, in all seasons.
